Current Cuisine is one of the worst places in Yellow Springs to eat. The food is mediocre at best and the staff are some of the most unpleasant servers I have ever encountered.
First, the food. They have a huge case that is usually full of things that look like they would be tasty but it is always a gamble to buy something because 75% of the time it looks good but tastes like nothing. The flavors are usually too muddied or simply not there. Since the majority of their ingredients are delivered to them from GFS this isn't really a surprise. Seems they've yet to figure out that the quality of the ingredients do make the dish, or maybe they have or just don't care. That would fit in with their usual attitude in the shop.
Which brings me to the staff. I have rarely been treated so poorly by people that are supposed to be there to serve me. No one ever smiles or greets you pleasantly and they pounce on you the minute you walk up to the deli case asking what you would like before you even have a chance to see what they are offering. One of the their long-time employees is so unpleasant, she actually rolled her eyes and made a sound of disgust one time when I placed my order because she had to wait on me rather than continue standing around looking irritated.
Honestly, there are way better places in Yellow Springs to get a good bite to eat. This place is the pits and most people I know only eat there because it is convenient and yes, the sandwiches are good. Hard to screw up a sandwich especially when you don't even make your own bread..
