Nestled in the heart of Ohio, Cupboard Distributing is a very unique business. It all started back in 1986 when a family accident spurred the owners, Chris and John, to open up a small business to cover some expenses. To their surprise and delight, people loved their line of wood shapes and craft supplies that they sold through mail order from their home, and the company took off.
After hundreds of requests and a few surprise visitors to their home, they decided to open up a storefront in historic Urbana, Ohio. Beginning in a tiny shop in the charming downtown square in 1987, the business has since moved to larger and larger stores around Urbana until finally settling into the 8,000+ square foot warehouse it now occupies just outside the south end of the city in 2003.
Ever since then, the company has grown by leaps and bounds, continuing the expansion into other lines of products. Now, customers can find everything from woodworking items and craft supplies to scrapbooking and fine art supplies.
We still ship mail order and send packages to all corners of the globe, from Australia to Japan, England to South Africa and all over the United States. You can find Cupboard Distributing on the road traveling to conventions around the nation, from Las Vegas, Nevada to Providence Rhode Island and Los Angeles, California to Tampa, Florida. On these trips, we promote our business to new audiences and Chris signs autographs in books of her ever-more-popular decorative painting designs. She also teaches classes to students of all ages (and all over the globe!) eager to sharpen their painting skills.
