Club 55 Bistro & Bar

I am not a person that typically writes reviews like this. However, I was so appalled by how we were treated, I had to let others know. Two of my friends were celebrating their birthdays and we decided to meet at Club 55 in Troy. I was with about 15 others (2 of us are black). I stood at the bar at least 10 minutes while the bartenders ignored me. It was obvious that I wanted to place an order, yet they continued to ignor me and talk among themeselves. I watched them serve several others before I finally said loudly, "Excuse me! I'd like to place an order". Finally, when they had no choice but to acknowledge me, I was served. Next, a friend of mine (also black)stood at the bar and was ignored. He is about 6'4" and 260 lbs. so YES they did see him. My friends were soo upset that we all left. We were also greeted in the parking lot by others who witnessed what was going on and decided to leave. I can't believe that this type of ignorance still exists. Based on the way we were treated, the only conclusion we could draw was that the employees and ownership of Club 55 do not want African Americans at their establishment. Club 55 turned what was expected to be an awesome birthday celebration for two friends into a terrible experience. Please, DO NOT support this business.
