Fort Rowdy Gathering

The 18th annual Fort Rowdy Gathering will be held October 2 & 3. in the Covington Community Park, located on US RT 36, in Covington, Ohio.

The annual Fort Rowdy Gathering is held near the site of the original Fort Rowdy built by General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, and is a depiction of a Frontier Trading Village during the late 1700's to early 1800's, pre-Civil War. Our 208 ft. long portable footbridge, erected annually for this event, takes visitors from the park across the river to the Encampment area.

Cross the beautiful Stillwater River on the Friendship Bridge to the Encampment area, and step back in time to the Ohio Frontier. Leave your troubles at the bridge, and enjoy a stroll through the camp. Visit with our re-enactors and learn how the settlers lived. Watch the camp competitions as the campers show off their skills. Listen to the sounds of blanket traders bartering for goods, the comfortable conversations of old friends, and the folktales and music of the camp musicians.

Join us in the Covington Park for a family oriented, fun filled weekend. Saturday will start at 9:30am with a parade through downtown Covington, and the day will end with a fireworks display at 9pm. Sunday starts with a Community Church Service at 11am

Lots of fun activities planned: Mountain man encampment, trade demonstrators, games for young and old, crafts, food, free concerts, children‘s activities, petting zoo, antique farm equipment, reverse raffle, and much more ! Handicap accessible. Free admission!
