Once in a great while you find a place that's run by people who care deeply about what they do and who have the knowledge and skill to attain the highest quality. Press is one of those places. Brett and Janell are scholars of coffee (as the collection of Barista magazines in their reading materials proves), and it comes out in everything they brew. They find the best beans and use them in precise, controlled ways to generate espresso that explodes in the mouth, iced Japanese coffee that is naturally sweet-floral along with earthy astringent, and French-press varietals that put the big chain coffee shops to shame. To watch them work is to see a blend of chemistry and artistry.
The store also showcases some interesting art created locally, and it attracts a friendly clientele--no doubt happy to be getting some of the finest coffee on the planet at reasonable prices.
I plan to be buying from them at least four days a week as long as I'm able.
