The Aviation Trail Parachute Museum tells the story of parachute research, development and modern uses including work done at Dayton’s McCook and Wright fields and the vital role the parachute plays in safely landing today’s spacecraft. The time line around the exhibit space soffit highlights significant events in the history of the parachute, starting with Leonardo Da Vinci’s parachute sketches. Included are interactive exhibits and artifacts from the world-class Dave Gold parachute collection. Free. Enter through the Aviation Trail Visitor Center across the plaza from The Wright Cycle Co.
