The Oakwood Club

My husband and I just returned from the oakwood club. It was wonderful! The service was impeccable and the owner/chef came to our table to congratulate us on our wedding anniversary. This had been our first visit and we were very impressed.. I had the petite filet and my husband had the chefs special. The Roquefort dressing is to die for and I asked for the secret. I was told that the sister had perfected it years ago and was a closely held family secret. Argh! We will definitely return. Thank you for a memorable 25 th anniversary.

62 years old and never been to the Oakwood Club, so it was supposed to be a rare treat. Called ahead for reservations, told NO jeans, must have collared shirt. Our son had to buy us "proper attire." Arrived, no place to stand & wait (20 min.+). SEVERAL diners in jeans; 1 in a sweatshirt (NO collar) & jeans. Seated over 20 min. late; Before I could sit down, chastised, "gentlemen remove hats in here." Being scolded in front of everyone was embarrassing. The place was horribly loud. Meal was O.K., but based on the cost and the "cold" customer treatment, wished we would have went elsewhere to eat. Got the distinct impression if one is not $$wealthy or a "regular," you are not really welcomed, nor is your business. I will never return here.
