St. Francis of Assisi believed God's love gave dignity to all creation, including animals. He preached to birds and allowed himself to be displaced by a donkey.
In honor of St. Francis's feast day, Dominion Academy hosts the Blessing of the Animals on October 4th, at noon. You are invited to bring your leashed or caged animals to be blessed. This year, the Dayton Police Department is bringing the five dogs of their Canine Unit.
Refreshments, including animal treat, will follow.
